What are virtual teams?

There are different types of virtual teams based on the lives, tasks, tasks, and roles of the members.

Network commands

These types of virtual teams are made up of cross-functional members who come together to share their experiences and knowledge on a particular issue. Membership is flexible in the sense that you recruit new members when you need them and you can withdraw existing members when they complete their roles.

Parallel Teams

Members of the same organization usually form parallel teams to provide advice on a process or system. Parallel teams are usually formed for a limited period of time and membership is permanent in the sense that the members of the parallel team stay together until the goal is achieved.

Product Development Teams

These types of virtual teams are made up of professionals from all over the world who work together to complete a specific job, such as the development of a new product, information system, or organizational procedure. For example, involving a group of specialists from the USA, Canada, and Hong Kong to create a new engine within a year.

Production Teams

Production teams are made up of employees with different roles who work together on a regular and ongoing basis. Production team members are given specific roles and act independently. The overall result is obtained by combining the different results of each member.

Service commands

Maintenance teams are made up of people from different time zones. Each person works independently, however, the work that each participant creates is a continuation of the work created by the previous participant. Customer support teams in Canada, for example, are ending their shifts, while support teams in Asia are starting and continuing their work.

Control commands

Management teams are made up of managers from the same organization who work in different geographical areas. Members of management teams mostly discuss corporate-level strategies.

Action Groups

To respond to urgent challenges, task forces are formed for a very short period of time. The team is closed after the issue has been resolved.
